Okay, so these are not the 100 days I had planned. I got my computer back from the shop and it is sort of working.
I will do better if I have goals - and a plan.
I am not sticking to all my goals - fighting depression, but committed to win.
I think I'll go walk Buckwheat around the block before I go to work.

Zig Ziglar on goals
I have been reeling from my bad news (cancer,) and having a rough time staying committed. But this video helped me keep on track. ZZ talked about specific steps in obtaining any goals, whether it is getting fit or writing a book. I think everyone could profit from this.

A New Reason for this challenge - I have Breast Cancer again
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh
Went to the doctor the other day for a mammogram and found out that I had breast cancer - again, in the other breast.
I thought I was past all that.
I haven't told my family.
Now I have to figure out, what medical procedures to go through, and how to nurture my body.
I know that fitness will play a part in this.
My son and friends are sending me info on how alternative treatments work to stop the cancer, and how to develop a holistic plan to get past this.
Any support is appreciated.
In the meanwhile, I would appreciate your visits to the following site - any clicks are free to you, but the advertisers will help poor women afford mammograms.

Starting and ending the day with Wins
Adding exercise is turning out to be the easiest part of this challenge, which is surprising, because I used to be procrastinating it all the time! I started the day with a short walk with Buckwheat and ended with going to the gym with my son, Nick. He took his camera and photographed me for his class, he wanted to see my legs in motion!
The veggie and fruit servings are more dicey, I don't really have a grip on the vegetables. My son wants me to put up a whiteboard with his chores listed; that way he will know for sure if he has done them, and I will not have to nag. I think I will get a board with vegetable and fruit serving magnets to monitor my progress: just move the magnets around once I have a serving. And wouldn't you know somebody else thought of this idea?

Started the day off with a win!
I made it happen for me today: walked Buckwheat before my coffee and then took off to the gym right after that. After twenty minutes on the exercise machine, I had DONE IT FOR THE DAY - well, at least the aerobic portion.
My sons, Buckwheat and I had a lovely time on the Santa Cruz Beach today. We added walking, walking, walking to the day.
It was difficult to eat the veggies and fruits traveling, although we did do a picnic, and that was wise. Plus it made it more enjoyable with Buckwheat.
This week we will add weights - and I will put my "statistics" on line. I'm scared to add out the measuring tape and the scale, but I need to take a deep breath and just do it.

Still aiming for that early morning win- but back to the club!
Getting the edge with early morning exercise is still a bit elusive, I am in the night person's frame of mind, and the exercising conflicts with my other 100 day goal of writing every day. But I still made it to the club and exercised aerobically for twenty five minutes on the minute while I was watching "Make Me a Millionaire! It felt like a mantra, exercising, getting my endorphins and heart rate up while I kept watching lottery winners see if they could win more. The high I got felt like an antidote to emotional eating. My goals feel like they are feeding off of each other: exercising, fitness, money and financial security, and spiritual growth.

Fresh fruit smoothies - An easy way to get those fruits and vegetables in!
I started back with smoothies today. They are easy, quick ways to get fruit and even vegetables in the daily diet. We usually start with an orange juice or milk base, although I'm going to try coconut milk, which is full of MUFA's. Bananas get frozen at our house when they get old, and fresh or frozen bananas are almost essential to smoothies. We also usually add some kind of berry, whiz it around and there we are - off to races as far as getting five to nine fruits in a day - a win early in the morning.
Please come back tomorrow - I am going to do the dirty deed - reveal my before measurements and weight.

What got me started on my personal 100 day fitness challenge
I started on September 23, because of this guy Gary Blair. Enjoy!
PS - The 100 Day Goal Setting Opportunity has been reopened for a few more days! I highly suggest that you come aboard, and get inspired like I have.
